SABAK BERNAM, April 21 – In a heartfelt gesture to uplift former service members, Deputy Minister of Defence YB Adly Zahari led a dedicated outreach programme for Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) veterans under the Madani Veteran Care Programme (PVM) today in Sabak Bernam.
The initiative—organised by the Ministry of Defence in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs (JHEV)—aims to provide targeted assistance and recognition to veterans in need, particularly those with disabilities, chronic illnesses, or living in remote areas.

“PVM is about listening to our veterans and acting on their needs—not just honouring them with words, but supporting them with deeds,” said Adly during his visit, where he personally met 30 veterans across Sabak Bernam and Sepang districts.

As part of the event, Adly presented the Pingat Jasa Malaysia (PJM) medal to nine veterans and widows, donated a laptop to the child of a veteran from a B40 family studying at Universiti Putra Malaysia, and distributed 250 Rahmah food boxes to local veteran associations. The first outreach of the month was held in Sepang on 14 April.

PVM will continue throughout the year as a nationwide engagement tool to ensure no veteran is left behind—physically, emotionally, or economically.
JHEV ATM Director-General Major General Dato’ Haji Semaon Haji Marjuki, Deputy Director-General Encik Sophian Isswandy Ismail, and Commander Mohd Kamal Irfan bin Hassan Sabri TLDM were also present, together with various veteran groups from Selangor.

The Ministry is also calling for greater public and corporate contributions to the Warriors Fund Campaign, which runs annually until 31 July, to enhance long-term veteran welfare programmes under the MADANI agenda.
