Beijing, Nov 17 — China’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning held a regular press conference addressing a wide range of diplomatic issues. She announced that Foreign Minister Wang Yi will visit Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan from November 19 to 22, holding strategic dialogues with his counterparts. The visits aim to deepen Belt and Road cooperation, enhance political trust, and implement outcomes of the China-Central Asia Summit.

Mao Ning strongly criticized Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi’s remarks on Taiwan, calling them a violation of the four political documents underpinning China-Japan relations. She urged Japan to retract the statements and honor its commitments. Mao Ning said, “Japan’s wrongful remarks seriously violate the political foundation of China-Japan relations. We urge Japan to stop interfering in China’s internal affairs.”

On Syria, Mao Ning reported that Wang Yi met Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan Al-Shibani, stressing mutual respect, non-interference, and cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. Wang Yi said, “China supports Syria in safeguarding its sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. We oppose external interference in Syria’s internal affairs.”

Other topics included China’s appreciation of South Korea’s rescue efforts for Chinese fishermen, concerns over U.S.-ROK nuclear submarine developments, and rejection of unilateral sanctions against Russia.

The press conference underscored China’s proactive diplomacy in Central Asia, firm stance on Taiwan, and renewed engagement with Syria, reflecting Beijing’s broader strategy to strengthen regional and global partnerships.
