SEREMBAN, April 19 – In a major move to strengthen Malaysia’s national talent pipeline, the ELMU Education Group today inked two strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with key industry leaders to bolster workforce development in Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) and the hospitality sector.
Held at its Bandar Enstek campus, the signing ceremony witnessed the collaboration between ELMU and the Malaysian Institute for Risk and Resilience (MIRAR), as well as a tripartite MoU with the Malaysian Hospitality Association (MHA) and DHS Hospitality Academy.
“This partnership aligns with ELMU’s mission to prepare professionals with forward-looking, risk-aware leadership capabilities,” said Dato’ Hairul Ridza Hayata, ELMU Group Deputy CEO and President of Group Strategy and Research. “Together with MIRAR, we aim to lead the way in equipping industries with critical GRC knowledge and resilience strategies.”
MIRAR President Tuan Haji Khairiri A. Ghani echoed the sentiment, adding: “Our collaboration with ELMU reflects a shared commitment to advancing national resilience through practical, standards-based solutions.”
Under the ELMU–MIRAR collaboration, both institutions will co-develop GRC training programmes, professional certifications, consultancy offerings, and research initiatives targeting mid-career professionals and organisations across sectors.
Meanwhile, the MoU with MHA and DHS Hospitality Academy is set to empower Malaysia’s hospitality workforce through industry-led certifications and capacity building ahead of Visit Malaysia 2026.
Key initiatives include crisis management modules, ESG reporting, and AI-focused hospitality skills. “We are creating a structured, industry-driven pathway for upskilling that will ensure our professionals are equipped to meet both local and global expectations,” said MHA President Dr. S. Sri Kumar.The partnerships signal ELMU’s rising leadership in connecting academic excellence with real-world workforce needs across Malaysia’s critical industries.
