SEPANG – The air at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) was filled with a mixture of excitement and solemnity early this morning as the first contingent of Malaysian Haj pilgrims departed for Madinah, Saudi Arabia.
A group of 284 pilgrims, comprising the KT001 flight (MH8050), took off at 4:12 AM and is scheduled to arrive in the holy city at 7:50 AM Saudi Arabian time.
The send-off ceremony for this inaugural flight was graced by the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), Dato’ Setia Dr Hj Mohd Na’im Mokhtar, who personally released the flight, signifying the official commencement of the Malaysian Haj pilgrimage for the year.

This year’s pilgrimage marks the introduction of enhanced digital Nusuk cards for all pilgrims.
These digital cards are designed to provide an added layer of security and convenience for the pilgrims throughout their spiritual journey.
The Nusuk card, integrated with relevant pilgrim information, aims to streamline various processes and ensure the well-being of the Malaysian contingent.
Mohd Na’im conveyed his best wishes to the departing pilgrims, praying for the successful completion of their Haj rituals and a safe return to Malaysia.

He emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring the comfort and safety of all Malaysian pilgrims throughout their time in the Holy Land.
The departure of the first group signifies the beginning of a significant religious undertaking for thousands of Malaysians who will be making their way to Makkah and Madinah in the coming weeks.

The entire nation joins in prayer, wishing all the pilgrims a blessed and fulfilling Haj.
“Semoga segala urusan sepanjang perjalanan dipermudahkan Allah SWT.” (May all affairs throughout the journey be eased by Allah SWT.)
