Kuala Lumpur, Nov 29 — Malaysia will host the Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Committee and Sub-Committee Members Induction Training 2025 from December 2 to 6, marking the first major leadership programme for the newly elected scout leaders of the region.

International Commissioner Norma Noordin said the induction represents a historic moment for the movement. “This programme marks the first major gathering of the Regional Scout Committee (RSC) and Sub-Committees for the 2025–2028 term elected at the 28th Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Conference in Kaohsiung, Taiwan last October which saw the election of the National Chief Scout, Major General Professor Dato’ Dr. Mohd Zin Bidin, as the new Chairman,” she explained.

She added that the induction aims to strengthen leadership, deepen understanding of governance and enhance strategic planning among committee members, setting the direction for the region over the next three years.

Norma further noted the programme’s structure. “The induction will centre on three main components. Firstly, Induction and Orientation, covering roles, responsibilities, skills assessment and understanding of regional governance; secondly, Working Methods, outlining expectations among committees, collaboration with the Regional Office and operational approaches; and thirdly, Strategic Outlook, identifying regional priorities, measurable outcomes and the team culture needed to advance Scouting across the Asia-Pacific,” she said.

Organisers expect the training to lay a strong foundation for cohesive leadership, ensuring clarity, alignment, and shared commitment in driving the growth of Scouting across the region.
