Kuala Lumpur, Jan 21— Yayasan Salam Malaysia (SALAM), a non‑governmental organisation with three decades of volunteerism and community development, will host the Salam Unity Explorace 2026 on Sunday, February 8, in Kuala Lumpur. The event will combine a treasure hunt with a forum on mental wellbeing and cultural intelligence, making it SALAM’s first major initiative of the year. Organisers confirmed that the programme coincides with the 123rd anniversary of Malaysia’s first Prime Minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman Al Haj, celebrated as the Father of Independence.

The Explorace is designed to encourage teamwork, problem‑solving and unity among participants, while the forum will highlight resilience, inclusivity and cross‑cultural understanding. According to SALAM, the event reflects its mission to promote goodwill, harmony and inclusivity, while honouring Tunku Abdul Rahman’s enduring legacy of unity and nation‑building.
“This event embodies the spirit of unity and inclusivity that Tunku Abdul Rahman championed. It is not only a celebration of his legacy but also a platform to strengthen social harmony through engaging activities,” SALAM said in its announcement.
Treasure hunters will navigate Kuala Lumpur in search of clues, while the forum will provide a space for dialogue on mental health and cultural intelligence. Together, the activities aim to foster stronger community bonds and highlight the importance of collective wellbeing.
SALAM confirmed that the event is open to all Malaysians, encouraging participation from youth, families and volunteers. The organisation hopes the initiative will inspire broader engagement in community‑based activities and reinforce Malaysia’s narrative of unity and inclusivity.
