Christmas Tree Branch Falls on Shopper at Pavilion KL

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 26 – A shopper at Pavilion KL, a popular shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur, was injured by a falling Christmas tree branch on Monday.

According to a statement released by the management of Pavilion KL, the incident occurred at noon, when a branch from one of the mall’s Christmas trees fell and made contact with the shopper, who was walking near the tree.

The mall’s medical and safety team promptly responded and accompanied the shopper to the nearest clinic for immediate medical attention. The shopper suffered a minor graze and was grateful for the quick action from the management. The management said they are in communication with the shopper and his family to ensure his well-being.

The mall also said that the Christmas tree area was immediately cordoned off for the safety of all shoppers, and that a thorough check will be conducted on all decorations to ensure their safety and integrity.

The management of Pavilion KL expressed their regret for the incident and assured the public that they will continue to take all precautionary measures to ensure shoppers enjoy the year-end festivity with peace of mind, as safety and security remain their utmost priority.

They also thanked the shoppers for their understanding and wished them Merry Christmas and season’s greetings.

Pavilion KL is one of the largest and most popular shopping malls in Malaysia, with over 550 retail outlets and 10 themed precincts. It is known for its festive decorations and events, especially during Christmas, when it features a giant Christmas tree, a snow globe, and a Santa’s workshop.
