Klang, Nov 13 — A demolition operation in Kampung Papan has triggered national controversy after residents claimed that occupied homes were destroyed. The operation, carried out under police supervision, saw 23 homes torn down since 10 November.

Activist S. Arulchelvan was detained while attempting to block the demolition. The Selangor state government has offered 2.8 hectares of land as compensation, but residents remain skeptical.
