Kuala Lumpur, August 20 – The 6th International Sustainable Energy Summit (ISES) 2024 officially kicked off today at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, drawing more than 5,000 participants from around the world. Hosted by the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) Malaysia, the summit is a critical platform for global leaders, experts, and innovators to discuss and accelerate the transition to sustainable energy.
The summit, themed “Accelerating Energy Transition Through Innovation,” aims to address the urgent need for innovative solutions in the energy sector. In his welcoming speech, SEDA Chairman Ahmad Zairin Ismail emphasised the summit’s role as a catalyst for progress in sustainable energy.

“This summit brings together esteemed experts, thought leaders, and innovators to explore the vast potential of sustainable energy,” said Ahmad Zairin. “Together, we can unlock new possibilities and design impactful, future-oriented, and sustainable solutions.”
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Haji Fadillah Yusof, who also serves as Malaysia’s Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, delivered the official opening speech. He highlighted Malaysia’s commitment to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 and the importance of leveraging innovation to address the energy trilemma of balancing reliability, affordability, and sustainability.

“The transition to cleaner energy is not just a choice, but a clarion call to action for all of us,” stated Fadillah. “Malaysia must strategically address these areas to safeguard our national trade interests and sovereignty, while also creating new opportunities for wealth generation and economic growth.”
The summit also saw the announcement of a strategic joint venture between Solarvest Holdings Berhad and Agmo Holdings Berhad, aimed at revolutionising the clean energy sector with advanced digital solutions. The joint venture is expected to enhance efficiency, scalability, and user experience in clean energy projects.
“Our collaboration with Agmo marks a significant leap forward in our mission to drive innovation and sustainability in the clean energy sector,” said Davis Chong Chun Shiong, Executive Director and Group CEO of Solarvest Holdings Berhad. “This partnership highlights our commitment to advancing renewable energy and showcases our proactive approach to meeting the industry’s evolving needs.”

The two-day summit features over 70 speakers across four plenary sessions and eight deep-dive workshops, with 73 exhibitors and 15 strategic partners participating. The event is not just a forum for discussion but a dynamic catalyst for progress, aiming to drive meaningful advancements in sustainable energy.


As Malaysia continues to lead in the global energy transition, the 6th ISES 2024 stands as a testament to the nation’s commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration in the pursuit of a sustainable future.
