Kuala Lumpur, August 19 – The Tourism and Halal Food Expo, set to take place from 21 to 25 August at Menara Kembar Bank Rakyat in Kuala Lumpur, will feature a wide array of tourism products and services offered by Bumiputera entrepreneurs from across Malaysia. The event, organised by the Malaysian Tourism Entrepreneurs Association (PUPEM), aims to promote and support local businesses within the tourism industry.
Kamarun Ab. Rahman, President of PUPEM, expressed his gratitude to Bank Rakyat for inviting the association to participate in the expo. “PUPEM would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Bank Rakyat for inviting us to this expo. Our association will be offering and showcasing an array of interesting products and services, including homestays, tourist boats, food products, crafts, and other services. We are bringing together our members who have years of experience in their respective fields,” he said in a statement today.

Since its establishment three years ago, PUPEM has grown to include over 200 Bumiputera entrepreneurs nationwide, covering a diverse range of tourism products. The association also conducts courses related to the management and operation of tourism premises, as well as basic business courses, including financial management workshops.

In a significant development, PUPEM has launched a tourism radio station called MyTour Radio, which is currently in its testing phase and will soon begin full operations. The station, accessible online at https://mytourradio.com, will broadcast worldwide, promoting the activities and offerings of PUPEM members.
“We are now conducting test broadcasts. The station is powered by a team of experts, including veteran broadcasters from RTM, and will be fully operational in the near future,” Kamarun added.
Bumiputera tourism entrepreneurs interested in joining PUPEM can contact the association’s Secretariat at 019-2790121 for membership details.
