Kuala Lumpur, Nov 18 – The Malaysian creative industry reached a pivotal moment today with the launch of Astro Sound+Vision (AS+V), a cutting-edge post-production facility by Astro Studios. Fahmi Fadzil, Minister of Communications, underscored the importance of Astro Studios in his virtual address, emphasising its role in advancing Malaysia’s creative potential.
“Astro Studios represents our ambition to tell stories that resonate beyond borders and reflects what our creative community can achieve when we invest in talent and opportunity,” said Fahmi. He highlighted the alignment of Astro’s vision with the government’s MADANI Creative Youth Programme, which encourages 16,000 young Malaysians to explore the arts and push boundaries.

Astro Sound+Vision, certified by Dolby Atmos for cinema, is the only fully integrated post-production facility in Malaysia that adheres to global standards for cinema, broadcast, and streaming platforms. Euan Smith, Group CEO of Astro, stressed its significance in elevating local content, noting, “Astro Sound+Vision rises to that challenge, offering Dolby Vision and Atmos certifications to enable Malaysian content to unlock global revenue streams.”

The launch was attended by key industry figures, including representatives from the Ministry of Communications, FINAS, international streaming platforms, and filmmakers, showcasing a united effort to boost Malaysia’s creative industry.
