RIO DE JANEIRO (Brazil) – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim continues to champion Malaysia’s economic aspirations on the global stage, spearheading a robust trade and investment mission in Brazil. Taking to Facebook, the Prime Minister shared insights from a roundtable session held with 27 Brazilian companies and business associations, representing key sectors such as semiconductors, aerospace, petrochemicals, and food processing.

The session underscored Malaysia’s global reputation as a hub for semiconductors and renewable energy, as well as its rapid advancements in data centers and artificial intelligence (AI). Yet, Prime Minister Anwar highlighted the untapped potential for growth, emphasizing the need for continued development and collaboration in these sectors.

Under the MADANI economy framework, Malaysia is actively pursuing high-quality investments while reinforcing trade strategies with nations in the Global South, such as Brazil. This approach reflects Malaysia’s vision of fostering equitable and sustainable economic growth.

Prime Minister Anwar stressed the importance of strengthening domestic industries and the business ecosystem to support economic and developmental goals. By empowering these sectors, Malaysia aims to ensure sustainable growth while maintaining its competitive edge in the global market.

The Prime Minister noted that several Brazilian companies expressed keen interest in exploring investment opportunities in Malaysia, citing the country’s clear and progressive policies under MADANI economy. These policies have bolstered Malaysia’s appeal as a reliable and forward-looking investment destination.

This trade mission not only solidifies Malaysia’s commitment to global economic collaboration but also reinforces its position as a dynamic player in fostering mutually beneficial partnerships with emerging economies like Brazil.
